i recently bought this..can i use dd-wrt on it? here are the specs and the fotos are attached..

MSI Micro-Star MS-7021 Motherboard w/ MSI CoreCell

AMD Sempron 2400 Processor

Corsair Value Select PC 3200 Ram Memory

1 Onboard & 2 Add-on Ethernet Cards (D-Link DFE-530TX+)

Gigabyte GV-R7064T (64MB) Graphics Card w/ S-Video
& ATI Radeon 7000 Processor

MikroTik RouterBoard 14 (4 mini PCI slots) w/ 3 CM9 PCIs

128 MB DiskOnChip

Linux & Lilo 22.3.4


reight now it has a 4.8 ghz radio but since it has Microtick Routerboard 11 i thoutht maybe u cud put another b/g PCI card...will a normal Laptop PCI card work??

i wud prefer if Brain slayer wud himself reply..or someone qualified in linux..

i got this cheap in junk so please help me out io dont know abit about Runinng dd0wrt on Linux machine..can i use this as a router??or sa AN AP??

dd-wrt should work on it. just try it. if it boots, it works. if you have troubles with ethernet etc. gimme the lspci output

thanks for the reply BS..but i wanted to know...it doesnt have a hard drive..also which POrt is WAN when i install dd-wrt x86 on it??

WAN is bydefault on eth0, whichis first network card DD-WRT finds, but you can also select from webinterface what eth to use as WAN.

if it doesnt have a harddrive it has something else which can be used.

hello there all thanks again for the support..i wanted to know if i installed dd-wrt x86 on it..will i be able to use all the 3 mini PCI's as different AP's or running one CM9 at 2.4 GHz and the other at 5 Ghz or soemthing? will dd-wrt support it??

can i connect the output of the CM9 to an 2.4 ghz amp??

als i wanted to know this..do i have to install the drivers? or dd-wrt automatically installs them???(on full version x86 i mean registered!)

you dont need to install drivers . Its all in there. If any standard atheros card or your Ethernet cards are not detected then simply post the lspci output and BS will do the driver integration ASAP

according to the specs the pc is far more than good enough.
cm9 should be well supported by ddwrt as far as i know..so no problems with repeater and stuf
