Hello,

I just got a new FTTH service, the physical topology is kind of like this:

ISP
<Optical Fiber, monomode>
ONT (Huawei HG850)
<Ethernet 100baseT UTP cat6>
Contrend Router
<LAN>

My problem is that I want to change the Contrend for a Linksys E3000 (currently running dd-wrt 2.4), but I cannot get it to work.

This is as much as I've been able to get from my ISP

Username: adslppp@telefonicanetpa
password: adslppp

(those are generic, so not much help there)

The Contrend is very tight, it's firmware is a cooked version which only gives me so much information. So far I've been able to get this from the router:

Interface ppp0.6
Description pppoe_eth0.6
Type PPPoE
Vlan8021p 1
VlanMuxId 6

Also somebody with a sniffer could get the vlan6 tag in packets between the router and the ONT.

What I've tried pretty much is to set the pppoe_ifname to 2.6 after tagging the vlan2 (wan). I've also set the wan to vlan6 and didn't work. It's been only a few days working around with the dd-wrt.

I don't know if what I've been trying is the right way to do what I need.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Regards,
Rancio.

On the VLAN page enable "tagged" for the WAN port, put the WAN port in VLAN 6 only, and then on the networking page set the WAN interface to vlan6. Make sure you have your PPPoE info configured as well of course.

Thanks phuzi0n, but it didn't work either, I've even tried to clone the mac. I'll try a few more times until I get a hub to capture all the traffic between the routers and the ONT to see what's really going on...
