i have a wrt54g2 v1.5 it has the winbond flash ROM 25q16bvsig it seems to be capable of 4 MB?? view attached pdf..
the router is equipped with the atheros ar7240-ah1e chip-set and the winbond w9412g61h-5h ram,,
it also has a 14 pin jtag connection,,, i need pin-outs for it.. then i will get backups of everything and upload them..
this is a project as i do not really need this router,, i have other routers,, and this is currently NOT supported by dd-wrt,, i would like to help change that..
right now it has all of the factory firmware and is brand new.. only a couple of months old.. been sitting in the box for those few months until the other day,, i decided to see what chip-set's were in it..
if it is a 4m flash ROM then i should be able to tftp mini into it right? do i need a diff, vxworks killer for the atheros chip-set or can i use the one from the wrt54g2 v1.3???
i was looking around and it looks like this is the same setup they used with the wrt54g2 v1.1 it looks like it might need the redboot rom and ram files and if so maybe a serial console to replace those files,, then it will except a web tftp..
the v1.1 also has the atheros chip and has advertised 4mb ram,, it looks like the only difference is the advertised ram.
then there is the dd-wrt files,, they say 2mb is not enough but the micro i just put in my wrt54gs v7.0 is only 1.7m.. sooooo why would that one not work???
how about a pair of redboot files and the micro??
i bet $$$ it'l work!!
i just tried to get backups via jtag and i had a weird thing happen,,, it immediately was stuck in management mode and the ip went to 1192.168.1.1 when it was set to 192.168.1.7,,, i got pings at 192.168.1.7 before connecting the jtag and then with it connected there were none and i switched to 192.168.1.1 and got pings,, then i tried to open the GUI and got management mode and the light stayed blinking,, also tjtag3 would do nothing just said no connection,,,,, no probe,,,,
does this mean at that point it is ready for a tftp flash??
so i unconnected the jtag and the router went back to normal 192.168.1.7 and standard GUI came back and lights were normal.. back into service...
what next?? i don't want to brick it,, i need to be able to jtag it for backups and just in case it does brick..
is there a pull up i am missing? ,, i am using an un-buffered cable and i don't have a serial console
