Hello, I Own a Asus RT-N16
FLashed with dd-wrt Mega/Big
I am currently Subscribed to Comcast Docsis 3.0 Service
My current speeds are as followed over the wire
Over wireless I
get about
17Mbps Down / 14 Mbps Up
any settings i should change or tweak?
should i RMA it ? If so how do i flash it back to stock ?
I have already tried all different types of security still the same speeds.

What build version did you put on to the Asus? Have you read the stickied Peacock thread at the top of the main Broadcom forum? It will tell you alot of information that you may have missed out on.
Have you tried using different channels for your wireless? The one you are using could be overlapping someone elses router near by. Please list all information you have listed in your wireless section of the your router.
When you had the stock firmware on the Asus, did it behave this way as well?
I am also having a similar problem (though I flashed it with a mini version). I replaced an older Belkin
router that gave me full broadband speed via g-mode because I needed a router with more memory due to having three more clients on the network this year.
With RT-N16, I get my full 30mbit wired but I get 10mbit wireless even when the laptop is a few inches away from the router. The channel and security settings are same as the one on my older Belkin.
I tried this router and hated it. Has the same issues with crappy wireless speeds. Get a duel band router and connect with 5Ghz, it's worth it if you are looking for pak wireless performance.
If anyone in interested in my Asus RT-N16 with DD-WRT already loaded, let me know and I will give it to you for below market value (just to save time).

I was having the same problem, and this procedure totally worked. Also, if you're interested, I had found elsewhere that disabling N-wireless fixed the problem. But your method fixes it while still preserving N functionality. Thanks!
Also, apologies for resurrecting this old thread, but I found this thread by googling, and nobody had verified that this procedure worked, so I figured future readers would appreciate seeing a "this worked for me" reply.
I have tried the above parameters on my Asus RT-N16, which is flashed with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/08/11) mega - build 16994. The wireless upload speeds on my local network are still appalling, about 90 kB/s. I have also tried increasing TX power and activating afterburner, without significant improvements. In comparison, the stock router from my provider achieves 2.2 MB/s.
I am considering giving up on this router. Are there more recent DD-WRT firmwares that would improve the situation.
the below referenced build is often recommended for this router. it might help you out. i haven't tried this build yet but had trouble with an older build so i just tried Tomato instead. hope you have success. let us know.
