Hello!

I got some kind of problem with my dd-wrt, Dunno exacly its a problem, or itas just not working with that mode, but, go to begin.

Platform1:
Linksys WRT160N v1.0
DD-WRT v14311

Platform2:
TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND v1.0
Firmware Version: 3.12.2 Build 100820 Rel.41891n

Platform2, working as, my main WiFi router,on basic standard, software. Working fine. Platform1, working as repeater-bridged. I used it beacuse my Home gots 2nd flor, and signal in corner of my house is very weak!

Ok, finally i sets my main router, enabling Wifi, chosed seciurity method on WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK. All working fine, my laptop conected. Then get started setup on my Linksys with DD-WRT. Finishing setup, making others IP addres, making two different wifi's, one for contacting with my Main and one - other name - to repeater. WiFi seciurity, same as Main, and repeater same but different code. conecting my latop on wifi, to Linksys - succesfull, but?!! Linksys, cant connect do my Tp-link....

I spend all night, to resetuping, trying different combinations... And got answer! I guess dd-wrt as Repeater-Bridge, cant connect to Main router with WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK !! i set both routers to normal WEP 64b, and that was succes!

But now, my networks, are more vulnerable to hacks. And now qustion: Did my Linksys,on dd-wrt should work on WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK with Main router? Or, on Repeater-Bridged he cant? Meabe i setup wrong something. Working on WEP seciurity, it cant work on .N mode :/

Pleae help.

Yes, just follow the wiki guide for linking routers, sounds like you may want to setup the 160n as a repeater bridge coming off the tp-link. Security should work just fine with it on WPA2 w/ AES, thats what i use anyhow. Click on the link in my sig for more info.

Exacly. But got other trouble on main router - TP-LINK.

ON WPA/WPA2 He can work only wih that config:

WPA/WPA2
Version: Automatic WPA WPA2
Encryption: AutomaticTKIP AES
Radius Server IP:
Radius Port: (1-65535, 0 stands for default port 1812)
Radius Password:
Group Key Update Period: (in second, minimum is 30, 0 means no update)

Dont known, what is RADIUS ?

EDIT: Cant use WPA/WPA2 without radius server. dunno what is that.

You can use WPA2 personal without a radius server.

You need to change automatic to some specific type.

Bottom Line: You either need to use WEP, or WPA2-AES for it to work for sure. Sometimes WPA-TKIP will work with dd-wrt, depending on the build. You need to sort out how to set up your primary router, and you should not be using auto.

Your question is unrelated to dd-wrt. Check with the manufacturer on how to set up your modem. Settings must match on both devices.

WPA2 PSK is basically WPA2 Personal, the PSK stands for pre shared key, so it doesn't need a radius server for key auth.
