After some goggle search and tests i reach to conclusion like my msi RG70SE it's the same router like Edimax BR-6504N the hardware in first look is identically(CPU, Ram, Flash) on booth even the FCC ID its same.

So i took my hearth in one hand and mouse in the other and i put the firmware from edimax on the MSI BR-6504N router and is still works fine. But i'm interested on DD-WRT firmware.

I'd be happy to donate mine. Though if I'm honest I'd love to learn how you guys work out whether it's possible (I'm a professional semi-high level developer).

Hi guys,

I'm following the dd-wrt project since a while but never had a chance to own myself a router which is compatible.

In one of my networks I got a edimax 6504n and I came accross this topic. I also think it's quite similar to 6574n so 2 questions:

1. Do I really risk hardware outage if I try to update it with DD-WRT (currently on edimax 1.55)
2. Is there a chance for me to see my hardware back if I make a donation and which country would I need to ship to?

Best,
