somehow i doubt that the atheros hardware found in consumer routers offer enterprise level performance. as its seen just because its atheros doesnt mean its the best. look at dd-wrt for example, broadcom based hardware is far more stable than atheros based hardware.

Silicon is just silicon.
If you take enterprise-level chipset/CPU, add some supporting chips, and package it into one WiSOC system - Wireless System-on-the-Chip - you get what Atheros did.
There are many players out there which want "enterprise only" piece of the pie, "because money is in Enterprise segment"
I am really please that Atheros did opposite.
This obviously creates problems for Cisco and other "Enterprise networking" companies, as it's quite difficult to justify their prices nowdays.
But I do not care about Cisco at all.
I just happy that I can buy Atheros-based router or access point for a fraction of Enterprise product price (1/5 - 1/10 comparing to what you will pay for Corporate product)
No, BrainSlayer stated that it is not ready yet in the WNDR3700 thread. He estimates around December. I am in no hurry as he knows what he is doing and ath9k is indeed not quite ready yet.

There are new updates on ath9k driver almost daily. It seems that the developers are working hard on it. Most of the discussion is on Buffalo routers here but I hope the devs do not forget about other routers like TEW-652BRP, WRT160NL, E2100L. I am looking forward to testing the next release on TEW-652BRP which I bought specifically for testing with DD-WRT. _________________ WNR3500L DD-WRT-18730-Kong Gateway/Firewall/NAS

I am also looking forward to testing ath9k on my TP-LINK 1043ND. I would really like to see the device running at full speed and stability and I hope that the ath9k will make it so. It would be a really nice Christmas present:)
I shall say again, I notice very little difference between the ath9k driver on openwrt and the madwifi driver on dd-wrt. relatively the same performance and range. ath9k requires more regulation integration so that might limit people more then the madwifi driver does. _________________ WNDR3700 moved to openwrt
