Will test it on TP-Link WR1043 V1.5 tonight,.... does anyone know - if missing kernel module "usb_storage.ko" for USB Support on TP-Link WF1043ND to mount devices from /dev/sd?/.. oder /dev/scsi/.. has been fixed in this release ?

To WRT160NL owners, this build provides NTFS support and Samba.

still need run below command first before mount any ext2 or ext3 usb drivers, could just put them in the start up command :

insmod mbcache
insmod ext2
insmod jbd
insmod ext3
sleep 2
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
mount /dev/sda2 /mmc

around 4MB/s write speed with samba share on ext3-drive.
Is there a way to accelerate this?

4-6MB/s via wired 1GBit to ext3 1,5TB HDD.
Directly connected about 25MB/s via USB, ESATA brings 80MB/s to this drive.

Tried out 15501 but same problem like before. The Tx rate and Rx rate stuck at 39Mbps on Tp-Link tl-wr841nd v3.0

Thanks for reply Wink
I have already tested on WR1043ND and my FAT flash was successfully mounted! And what else! I finally can share it through my network and it is "build in".
Thanks very much BrainSlayer!
I will report any other problem if I find it (hope not) Very Happy
EDIT: I can mount my ext3 harddrive without any problem. Both speeds are 7,5 MB/s on 100M net. I am going to test 1G net and report.
EDIT2: On 1G network- 10MB/s down; 9,5 MB/s up.

Isn't there more possible?
25MB/s for USB2.0 HDDs is normal, so 10MB/s is half the speed. Is the CPU of the router the reason, is it too slow?

the speed is based off of the CPU and usb drivers. faster cpu means more processing of the read/write info.

With all the people using routers as NAS devices these days I think some effort needs to be made in optimizing the drivers and speeding up the read/write of attached devices.

on my wndr3700 (680mhz) i can get about 14 meg read/write speed (mind you this was a few releases ago which it was working) on gigabit. about 5 or so over wireless.
