this thread is in response to my original post at:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=498496#498496

it seems to indicate it can be recovered serially.

i was told the serial adaptor could be had for $3.

i'm wondering if radio shack sells what i need.

there are some other questions such as, do i need to open up the rt-n12, i thought serial was some wires tied to an ethernet port that would not require opening up the unit. this is not optimal for me, as i can't really deal with ethernet, additional wires. opening it up and connecting things simply i could do.

i'm running Ubuntu maverick, and i do believe i should have one serial port on my motherboard plate out back.

if anyone can fill me on with whats necessary to save her, i'd rather do it myself, than go through alot of trouble with someone else.

thank you

How many threads do you need to post about this in?

There is a dd-wrt wiki entry for serial port connection, read it! and also a very good thread in the Broadcom section:
