We are running PBX In A Flash outside of an ISA firewall. Internally all phones are SNOM 300's, we have 17 registered.
All phones are configured to use a DD-WRT v24-SP2 router as a SIP gateway.
Within the last week all phones de-register themselves and won't re-register until the router is re-booted. I have the router set to auto re-boot every morning.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
which version of DD-WRT are you using ? I have found
a problem with arp replies in DD-WRT versions
greater that 15XXX. The last one which works for me
is 14929.
You can test as follows:
1. connect a PC to the LAN. Make sure it is not using DD-WRT as a default gateway, DNS, ntp or so. Let the arp table time out(takes max 2 min with Win7, can be much longer, in the range of hours, with others),
see if you can ping DD-WRT or access the web pages after the arp has timed out or cleard (arp -d *)
2. login to dd-wrt from another PC, or a Laptop over WLAN. Have your PC's arp timed out or manually cleard.
Now ping the PC from DD-WRT's CLI. If the first reply
comes only after 10 secons, you suffer the same problem than me.
I have opened a ticket for that and hope for some
feedback from the developper soon. In meantime, you can
go back to DD-WRT 14929.
I ran the tests you suggested. Don't think it's related to ARP.
I did set up WDS/Connection Watchdog to ping our PBX on the WAN IP and since then the router is rebooting every 5-6 minutes. There are a lot (80-100) of active IP connections, mainly from our ISA firewall, not sure why that would be. Need to test.
