Hi,
I have an Asus N-16 running DD-WRT v24-sp2 mega. I'm attempting to use the Access Restriction to block bit torrent traffic. Although I have an intermediate understanding of networking, I don't seem to be able to get this to work correctly. I believe I've followed the instruction carefully and to the letter, in case I misinterpreted the interface at all.
Initially, I enabled the filter, specifying my own IP address as a test and selecting all p2p protocols. This didn't seem to work so I added the preset "bittorrent" to the list of blocked services with still no luck. Then I specified the exact port my own bit torrent client is using and this also didn't stop the traffic. I then did a simple test to block a website but this also didn't work. I then tried using my MAC address instead of IP address but still no joy.
Unless I'm being a complete muppet, I can't see anywhere that I would have misconfigured this. I also can't see any known issues with my hardware and Access Restrictions. Are there any common mistakes made when setting up Access Restrictions that I could be making? Are there settings elsewhere in the router that can effect Access Restrictions and that I may have overlooked? Is there any other information I can provide about my set up and configuration to help diagnose the problem? |
