hi there,

I am trying to revert my router to its original firmware (FW_WRT54GS2V1_1.0.02.007_US_20100121.bin) but I only get "upgrade failed" when using the web GUI after upgraded to "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) micro". I also tried tftp but no luck.

The DD-WRT works fine, but I need to test some other firmwares. I read that in order to install another firmware is better to revert back to original.

I even tried to install the OpenWRT firmware directly from DD-WRT GUI but got the same result.

Any help is welcome!

From the dd-wrt wiki instructions for installing dd-wrt on the router:

Warning - There is no Revert for this router at this time

OpenWRT doesn't support 2MB flash devices, in fact don't think you will find another that does.

Thanks for the reply.

Does that mean I am stuck with this firmware?

Is there any other way to revert this?

Does anybody know if this revert will ever be made?

the install instructions were pretty clear that dd-wrt is a one way operation.

You can jtag stock but your macs will not be correct cuz if you edit the vxworks bsp, it will fail to boot because the edited bsp will not pass the checksum check.

there is a wholeflash posted (what version is your device) g2 v1.1, gs2 v1.3?..

anyway.. what are your issues. dd-wrt runs fine on the device. maybe we can help you if if explain the issues.

also... there was a thread (you can search for it), where a few users reverted the device by winscping a v8 cfe, then reverted from there. maybe it was a v7 cfe.. dunno but I remember the thread.
