Since wake on lan has so-so reliability, depending on the computer's hardware,

I wanted to throw this out there - a LONG 2-pin ATX connector that runs from the motherboard power switch into a router, powered by DD-WRT. Ideally 2 of these (one for power, one for reset).

Patent Pending (j/k, lol)

Seriously, thoughts?

I can get into standy from remote with no problems at all, but it wont wake up with the remote. I have read through all the posts on the S3 remote hack to standy and wake up via the MCE remote. But I am still having problems. I have tried everything listed in the big S3 post except one item that I cant complete.

I am pretty sure that my problem lies in the device manager> USB Controllers> USB Root Hub> Properties> Power Management Tab - The option to check to allow this device to bring the computer out of standby is grayed out and I cant select it. The only thing I can change in that screen is the setting on allowing the computer to turn this device off to save power. I have tried unchecking that item and rebooting to see if I can then check the to bring it out of standby but it doesnt work.

Any Help is greatly appreciated.

Specs

Abit KN8 Ultra

AMD 3200+

MCE 2005

Hauppage 150

1 gig Corsair
