There are 3 problems with wrt160nl.
1.The SES / AOSS / EZ-SETUP / WPS led is orange is not blue even when the connection is made.
I correct this with this commands:
Code:
nvram set connblue=1
nvram commit
reboot

2.The wireless light is blinking even there is no wireless client, it should blinking just when someone is connecting.
3.IP Filter Settings (adjust these for P2P)Maximum Ports is 4096 and default it says that is 32768.

On the WRT400N when you apply settings you lose your connection, the only I have found to get an ip address is to reboot my cable modem.
Still loosing wireless connection on the 5Ghz band, also very low power.

startup scripts still don't execute. I've got to set a custom script, then launch it using Firewall script.
DIR-300

Wow. UPnp is down after less than 1hour of uptime.

And WOW. I can't even connect with ssh to check what's down and what's wrong. wtf? I'm getting connection refused error... wow

I managed to get this through webui:
Code:
Jun 12 20:24:00 DD-WRT user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jun 12 20:24:00 DD-WRT user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon hanging, send SIGKILL
Jun 12 20:24:00 DD-WRT user.info syslog: dnsmasq : dnsmasq daemon successfully stopped
Jun 12 20:24:01 DD-WRT user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jun 12 20:24:01 DD-WRT user.info syslog: dnsmasq : dnsmasq daemon hanging, send SIGKILL

Jun 12 20:24:03 DD-WRT user.info syslog: cron : cron daemon hanging, send SIGKILL
Jun 12 20:24:03 DD-WRT user.info syslog: klogd : kernel log daemon successfully stopped
Jun 12 20:24:03 DD-WRT user.notice kernel: klogd: exiting
Jun 12 20:24:03 DD-WRT user.info syslog: dnsmasq : dnsmasq daemon successfully stopped
Jun 12 20:24:04 DD-WRT user.info syslog: klogd : kernel log daemon hanging, send SIGKILL
Jun 12 20:24:04 DD-WRT user.info syslog: syslogd : syslog daemon successfully stopped
Jun 12 20:24:04 DD-WRT syslog.info syslogd exiting

wow. That's from like... 2 hours ago
The uptime:
Code:
22:36:39 up  2:20, load average: 0.27, 0.20, 0.18

So it lasted... umm... around 10 minutes? wow!

Can't get WDS bridge with WEP encryption to work, it's broken since 14402 and I'm still using 14289 now.

Wds does work.

Wireless transmit power on the wrt400n seriously messed up.

Its low to begin with but changing wireless channels on either 2.4 or 5ghz greatly affects the other.

To the point where you can have 45% at 15-20 feet to nothing with just one change.

Presently the power issue seems to be the biggest problem for the atheros chipset.

Speeds vary but with some channel messing around you can get what one would expect.

Example:

both wirless canada/n only.
Turbo
Changing the wireless on the 5ghz once from say 161 to 153 channel (lower) can increase or decrease channel from 40% to 10%.

Odd behavior to say the least.

Wrt400n

Dark_Shadow, I think I just didn't restart the router after configuring it (or I did but it got really messed up, can't remember now. I did erase nvram as it's faster than 30/30/30 method :)

Anyway, startup scripts still aren't working.

am i overusing the 'wow' word? Very Happy

In my case, WDS with WPA works but not WEP, while both work on early build.

Not everything supports WPA2, or even WPA. Devices such as Nintendo DS/DS Lite only support WEP.
