I download the micro special version to my desktop
Go to 192.168.1.1 do a backup which works ok..
Then do a update and select the file I just downloaded and after a second or two it changes screens and says Update Failed.

need more info. router and build you are using. SPECIFICS! because there could be a huge difference in using the 600n and the 610n for example! and the micro and mini builds and if its made for that specific router or not. Wink

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to upgrade from DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/15/10) micro-special to the last one in a WRT54G. It's fails.

I tried with Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 using Windows 7 x64

Any clue?

PD. I hope Sash will not to come and offer pure facts...

Yes.. Millerboy3

Linksys WRT54GS V7
Trying to use the Micro-Special build... It already has the Micro-Special Build from March loaded on it and running fine.
What is weird I have had this router for a couple years almost and never had one problem upgrading from the GUI...

I planned on trying disconnecting all PCs from it and hookup my Laptop via CAT6 cable and try it using that laptop and see if it takes it that way???

Thanks Jerry

Hey TheBalrog.... Same problem I am having...

I use the Micro Special Generic and it fails every time...

Maybe with more people having this problem a cure maybe found...

Sorry Gents...I just found the problem...the micro build has grown too big to fit the 2M Flash chip.

The current 14402 micro build is 1,777,664 bytes and can be no larger than 1,769,472 bytes

I see this with the 14569 also...it has been reported in the TRAC as a bug.

For now...go back a rev to a smaller file size.
