...Afghanistan...
I want to expand our network to two firebases, each about 20km away with good line of sight....
I would like to get about a 100Mbps connection to each firebase (we have 2)...
Distance and the speed are going to be the deal breaker.
Distance should be ok with a high powered link with big dishes. But the ping and speed will be around 1/4 of what it would be given a closer distance.
I cant really give any advice since my longest link is half that but personally what I would attempt to do is look for a high powered N spec'ed AP using the 5ghz band. And throw some big dishes on it, Find perfect alinemight with a laser pointer. Then just hope its able to get the speed you want. Other wise you can always use a dual link and have load balancing set up. (unsure how it would work side by side tho as iv only done it with B spec with channels far apart 1,12 to stop interferace) _________________ Asus WL-520GC R1.02 - DD-WRT 24-sp2 (09/30/09) micro-plus (SVN revision 13000M NEWD Eko)
