Uhm, I might ask why you HAD to install DD-WRT just so you could use it as a client bridge... I'm not familiar with the model but I don't think you'd have to do that. I may be wrong though.
The next thing I would do is ask if you know how networking works, because I don't think it'd be easy to talk you through this if you don't.
Also, why are you trying to connect the laptop to the internet with it if you were trying to use it as a wireless client on your 360? I don't think that would EVER work...
What seems more likely is that you've not been very clear about what you need help with. _________________ Ich muss Finnisch lernen...
I was just following this to try make it a wireless adapter.
From what I've gathered i turn this router into a receiver which will then connect any laptop/pc/xbox to the internet, just like the actual xbox wireless adapter.
since ive just followed the links i have provided i dont really know what ive done wrong, i been through all the IP Numbers and checked them all against my wireless router so i don't see why it hasn't connected.
I'm not too bad with networking i kind of understand how it works just not into great detail.
Hmm, alright. So you've got the IP addresses assigned correctly, or set up to use dhcp from the main router, right? Did you manage to find the setting in DD-WRT where you tell it what SSID to connect to as a client? Oh, and are you not trying to use your laptop with it anymore, or were you just plugging it in to test or configure it? Are you able to ping from the client bridge to the router?
Sorry, it's been a while since I've done this myself and I don't have a spare router to bridge to at the moment. I'll see if I can find out where exactly the setting is if you're not able to find it - I just don't want to interrupt everyone's connection while I do.
It's not going to be exactly like a 360 wifi adapter; it's more like having the 360 connect to a computer which is also connected to the main router, so just configuring the IP setting on the 360 won't necessarily get you up and running either. Just thought I'd mention that in case it's news to you. Oh, and just one more thing, if you have two routers with the same IP address things will not work well. _________________ Ich muss Finnisch lernen...
