I am connecting using cable TV and DHCP works fine for me, tho I don't recommend jumping on to DD-WRT yet , becouse of UBER bugged wireless settings.
Almost nothing works from wireless settings also changing any settings (even not related with wireless) is causing mass disconnect everyone from AP and they can't connect again.
After Reboot everything backs to normal.
I recommend OpenWRT , everything works fine and before installed DD-WRT got over 1 month uptime without any problems.
Can someone explain (for noobs like me...) where i can download the firmware and upgrade my wrt1043n over the original webinterface?
because the router isn't listened on the router database (why that, will it come later?) yet.
thx you very much or your addvice!
I'm in the exact same position. I consider myself PC literate but still can't seem to find the firmware or hardware specific flashing instructions (although the Installation wiki seems a pretty good starting point).
It is quite frustrating :/
Could someone direct me to firmware download for this router?
Thanks.
[edit] @Mitaruss: Thanks dude

So WDS etc. wouldn't actually work?
Is openWRT comparable with dd-wrt and WDS for example works?
<6>usb 1-1: new high speed USB device using ar71xx-ehci and address 2
<6>usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
<6>usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 2 if 1 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x04A9 pid 0x1 72B
Does this indicate that printer is not "attached" correctly to print server?
So before the firmware will be on the router database, We can say that not all functions will work probably well??
Can someone tell me more about open wrt?
I think openwrt hasn't so a well organized page like dd-wrt... So i don't understand everything at all...
I already found the firmware or the tp-link wr1043n, but i'm not sure if i have with open-wrt a webinterface like all normal routers, because everyone is talking about some codes there...
Would be nice if someone could share his information with us
