connect a serial adapter to the unit (needs max323 converter)
and configure to 9600 baud. then you can use the redboot bootloader to flash another firmware one it.
Well, i had the serial adapter and access to RedBoot. Now, how can i perform flash? could you put any link to an fonera's flash image? any howto?
from what you said, you can test it, right? I already ordered my fonera (in the last day before the price went up), so I'm waiting for good news
Yes i can test it and i will when i get my fonera, i hope to have it next week and order a couple of 2Mb flash chips to program with a flash programmer and replace the original. So i hope to have a Smc/Siemens/Philips like device.
Posted: Tue Nov 14, 2006 18:55 Post subject: help me on selecting a converter from rs232 to la fonera
i found a converter in ebay to access the la fonera.
i am not sure if it is the right one.
could you please tell me if this converter does work to access the la foneras ssh-console.
i think the fonera needs 3,3V.
this converter is 5V, but i saw many comments that it could also work with 5V.
yes, i tried this website before.
but they use also the converter with 5V technology.
is it possible to get ssh working with this device (ma last comment, the third site) as it works on 5V, not on 3,3V
did anybody got this working, yet?
Another thing:
the last CGI-hack was over the website of fon.com.
could it be possible to get another hack working with the website on la fonera (192.168.0.1)?
it must be possible to inject some commands, too, i think!
thanks! I finally got my fonera and now I have ssh access without even opening it. I'll do some test to it to see if I can use it to extend my wireless without changing the firmware (as there is still none compatible).
I dont have a Fon device, but I'm pretty sure you should copy/paste the quoted text there, save it as a webpage on your computer (like "hack.html" or something), then double click it to open it in your browser.
