[quote]I noticed that the support status for DIR-615 was changed to "no" from "wip". I guess this router has been given up by dd-wrt. Sad
perhaps someone made an error, the tew 652 is still listed as a wip and it has the same hardware as the dir 615 c1.

Hi,
Can some one share the the DIR 615 fw file edited with hex editor and ready to be used for flashing the TEW 652?
I am not very familiar with the usage of hex editors and hence this request.I am thinking of flashing the fw of my Trednet TEW 652 BRP with the DIR 615's becuase i am seeing a lot of disconnections on my Trendnet. Will doing so help?
Thanks,
Dbisoi

According to the supported devices list both the tew-652brp and DIR-615 are now supported? This would be great news!!!
I bought my tew-652brp a year ago on faith that it would get supported. Would be hugely gratifying if that's finally come true.
Anyone tried this yet?
There is a pretty active thread right now on the dir-615 with people trying it out and working out the kinks (at least for the D rev). But I can't seem to find a thread for the tew-652brp.
Lots of good news lately. Could someone kindly explain if dd-wrt is available for tew-632brp? I have been able to get dlink-615 c1 firmware running on this without issue as many of you have. But just wondering if dd-wrt is available for tew-632brp?
Wait, so doesn't that mean it should work on the TEW-652BRP? Who wants to guinea pig it?
I finally got around to flashing it (used the TEW-632BRP factory-to-ddwrt file under recovery mode since I had OpenWRT on it) and it seems to work alright, Client Bridge mode keeps disassociating though and seems to have problems with DHCP. Wireless repeater modes are unavailable, although this isn't too surprising considering support for it appears to be missing in the driver itself.
Has anyone tried flashing with the new TEW-632BRP on a TEW-632BRP router? If so, any comments about the process and what hardware version do you have?
I have version 1.2 and i'm not sure the differences it has compared to 1.1 so i'm reluctant to flash it, hope anyone can give me some feedback. Thanks.
One man posted on Trendnet's Russian Forum. He's flashed new dd-wrt firmware on TEW-632BRP. Provider Beeline (former Corbina) in Moscow. VPN over PPTP connection terminating after 2-3 min. ping increasing to 5-300 ms from stable 1-2ms on original firmware. And finally provider blocked one port because intensive multicast flood have began. So I waiting more stable version because of this. I have same provider.
I have a TEW-632BRP A1.0R
I tried to load "tew632brp-factory-to-ddwrt-firmware.bin" using recovery mode but I get: "Incorrect hardware ID image, Please check !"
then I compared HW ID in original FW and DD-WRT (at the end of the FW file) using hexedit and it is identically: AP81-AR9130-RT-070614-00
Using the Trendnet TEW-632BRP with DD-WRT and IT WORKS!
Massive thanks to DD-WRT for that release. My Wireless has improved!
HOW TO DO IT:
What I did is that I flashed this firmware so that my Trendnet router uses DLink 615 Firmware. Then on the DLink control panel, I flashed my hex-edited firmware below. A successful flash, a two minute wait time for the router to reboot and presto! DD-WRT on 632BRP. ^^
Disclaimer: Use at your own risk. What works for me may not work for you.
Installing dd-wrt onto 632brp was quite easy:
1. I placed my router into recovery mode holding the reset key while plugging the AC.
2. I connected it by ethernet to the computer, manualy assigned IP adress kind of 192.168.1.x and reached my router through http://192.168.1.1
3. Then I just flashed it with this firmware.
The only issue I've noticed is 1mbps speed limit for client mode.
