I tried to set up DD-WRT on my 670w. Everything worked fine until I tried to set Wireless Security. I selected WPA2 Personal Mixed + AES, typed WPA Shared Key, and applied settings. Now I cannot even see the router on my wireless connections. Can anyone give me a clue on what happened?

You probably have to set your computer's wireless adapter to the same Wireless Security setting that you set and used on the router.

i just flashed my airlink 101 ar670w to dd-wrt and it is up and running fine but i noticed that the wireless light is always flickering even when i'm not connected to it. is it supposed to do this. is there anyways to set it to only flicker when i'm connected and transferring data? also what is the maximum transmit power u can set it to without damaging the router?
thanks
If a router is broadcasting a wireless signal, the light should flicker to show that it's working and broadcasting.
If you don't want the light to flicker, disable the wireless broadcast.
But then you will NOT be able to connect to it wirelessly until you enable it.
Just want to add my input on my experience with the latest pre-SP2 flash (dated 10/2009) on my AirLink 101 AR670. I flashed my router sucessfully but i have encountered the following problems:
- when disabling WAN, disabling DHCP & changing the router's IP, after saving and applying, trying to logon to the router is not 100% correct. i tried this (as i am atempting to setup this router as a switch behind another router) and when i go to logon with the new router IP, the status page that is supose to come up is not fully loading. i get a white page that says DDWRT in bold and some other text leading towards the bottom where it says to donate.
- also when trying to connect via wifi, the connection does not connect to the internet via my main router. im thinking i may be missing a setting so i can redirect the wifi signals to my lan on the airlink router where i have a connection from port 1 to port 4 on my main router although this has not been an issue for me in the past.
idk if these are new issues or maybe there have been features added that im not configuring properly in order for the above configurations to work right but if anyone can help out that would be great. if they are just bugs, ill wait till the final SP2 is released. none the less, the firmware is wonderful. so many features!

1. What IP number did you change your router to?
2. What's IP number is assigned to your LAN adapter?
3. Make sure you set the LAN adapter IP to be in the same subnet IP range as the router's new IP. The subnet should probably be 255.255.255.0.
4. Since you cannot reach the router's new IP page, your web browser is probably caching and displaying parts of the "most recently accessible" page (i.e. DDWRT in bold and some other text leading towards the bottom where it says to donate) since it cannot find a more current page.
So from reading this thread it looks like there is a dd-wrt build that works on the AR670w, any chance I could get this to run on a 680? I only ask because that's all I currently have and I have been having terrible lag issues with them.

Don't even try it, unless you want to brick your router.
The DD-WRT builds are definitely router-model-specific.

I had purshased this router few weeks ago and still not able to make bridge mode working. I tried 13069, 13525 and the last 13637 builds and the symptoms are always the same:
1- In client bridge the join is successful but brings me back to wireless configuration page asking to choose the correct mode or I don't know exactly why this page is presented. There is no connection to AP in the status page.
2- In repeater bridge, site survey does not work and I am unable to join any AP.
This router could be an excellent client router with N speeds but the most interresting future in dd-wrt does not work at all. Is it a know issue with the last builds also like it seems to be in client bridge for 13069?

I used to have trouble setting up repeating bridge until I discovered that the SSID name for ra0 sometimes got spaces added to the end of the name. You only notice the extra spaces if you click in the box. The spaces can be erased. I now set the same SSID name for both the physical and virtual interfaces.

Thanks for your answer, but WDS is not really a solution for me because I use 2 other client bridge router connecting to one of the AR670w as an AP. The 2 other client bridge routers are Linksys and Dlink all running dd-wrt.
If I setup WDS, I will not be able to use client bridge mode on the same AP. I think you cannot mix WDS and client bridge or repeater bridge on the same network.
So I think I will have to wait until Bridge mode is fixed on the AR670W to add a third client bridge to my setup.
It would seem up to this point you can flash and recover without any real problem.
But thats about it for function with ddwrt yet on these routers.
Wds can be setup but doesn't show on the router even though the primary router will show a wds connection.
Repeater and repeater bridge can be selected but dont affect the wireless setup.
All selections like 40mhz/20mhz and channels can be selected when they should be gone after repeater selection.
It's also blocking remote desktop connections.
This is with the last version of the firmware for 2010 (13637).
It would appear that ddwrt still needs major work before its usable on this router.

I think that these Ralink based cannot do dual ssid or 2 different radio channels at the same time. This is probably a hardware limitation that makes Bridge impossible to do on these devices.
May be dd-wrt developpers can confirm and make that we stop wasting our time with this router!
