Ok, guys, I have a working unit here - saves too. The only problem now is to flash it from previous firmware with "wrong" - locked - flash partitions. I can't get any boot wait pings, so I had to flash it with JTAG. This is now only solution to get it accept new build.

But I guess only "im_electronic" flashed one older build (which I sent).

Hi Eko,

I am still trying to follow up to understand the dd-wrt status concerning WLA-G54C,
respectively WLA2-G54C.
I confess, from all reading here, I still do not understand what can be done and what
was just special because the ones sent were already bricked.

Now, is it possible to simply flash/tftp an originally equipped and working WLA(2)-G54C with dd-wrt?
What dd-wrt version is required to do that and how to would be the correct way?

Thanks !

I have successfuly flashed two units using the provided image from Eko, both don't save to NVRAM, boot with WiFi as LAN and LAN port as WAN. looks like I might have to build a JTAG cable to flash, or use buffalo firmware on my remaining 6 WLA-G54C's.

if I go JTAG I'll be building a push on cable held on by rubber bands....soldering free except removing miniPCI card.

I can do TFTP or web upgrade if you get a working image going Eko. Thanks Again.

I am willing to test images as well on two of my six and help you out. I can debrick using JTAG from what I understand.

together we can update the WLA-G54C wiki page.

Looks like only JTAG is the way out... just new kernel.bin needs to be jtaged in - then power off - wait 5s - power on -wait 2 min- poweroff -wait 5s -power on- SUCCESS!!!!

New builds run fine.

yes, some of dd-wrt's nvram entires conflicts with buffalo's original ones.
you'd better "clear" those buffalo ones just before or after updated to dd-wrt
ie, flash your unit with openwrt and do a "mtd erase nvram", then reboot and tftp to dd-wrt. then, your dd-wrt will be running more smoothly. Rolling Eyes
i got to know these after bricked my routers 2 times and struggling to just "save" settings or to clear settings within dd-wrt.

i tried to modify the cfe with nvserial / mkcfe.sh to get boot wait on - no chance
i flashed the original CFE and a openwrt whiterussian rc5 - no connect to the router.
what can i do?
what me makes wondering are the cfe variables:

Hello,
Im a nubbie, and I have 3 WLA-G54C's and everything i have read, on both forums, and wiki, does not work. I've tried upgrading web gui and tftp. (both in WinXP/Ubuntu). And i have tried both the Mini, and Generic v23.

Is there something im doing wrong? Do i need a Modded Header Firmware? If so, could someone post it here, or PM me it?

Thank you so much
