Nobody told you it would. The current broadcom k2.6 builds are strictly for the few new models that these builds are explicitly written for.

If it helps any to have some suggestions of which routers to make next in line for kernel 2.6, I recommend the Asus wl-500w and the Linksys WRT300n v1. Specifically the NTFS read/write portion of 2.6 (webcam would be nice also:)

Now that we have K26 builds does anyone know the likelihood of and how soon the possibility of TCP CUBIC implementation on broadcom hardware?

My guess, after having read the CUBIC definition paper, is never.

Im on a quest to get K26 running on WRT350N by replacing its CFE, what router that can run K26 without modifications is closest to the 350 CFE or hardware wise?

A good candidate is the CFE for WRT310Nv1, you do have jtag in case it doesn't work, right?

yup when I get some time to myself after the holidays, anyone with a external jtag header mod on a 350n want to try it for me so I don't have to crack it open? lol Razz

What's the difference between vegas (default) and cubic? (Which one is better? Very Happy)

Mainline kernel 2.6 default is cubic but dd-wrt default is vegas for all kernels.

"Better" is up to you to decide. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TCP_congestion_avoidance_algorithm

That didn't work out so well.. I edited the 310 cfe in regards to board flags and such..

Vlan ports are the same in the cfe's

After flash & boot, lan port 1 lights up and the cable is plugged into lan 2. It would just continously reboot. Power light blinking, lan light would come on for about 4 seconds, then go off.. 10 seconds or so later, back on for 4 seconds, etc..

Looking at the cfe's they are very different in the area we can read.. The 310 has all kinds of pci entries.. The 350 does not have a pci card..

So.. it was a shot but a no go.

hmm, one of the reasons why I suggested the 310 CFE was the pci boardflags.
What version of WRT350N do you have?
Are the FCC photos wrong? (they clearly show the radio as a PCI card)
