This is probably one of the easier ways to unbrick your FON router. There shouldn't really be a way to brick RedBoot.....

The reason you can't hit Ctrl-C in RedBoot is because linemode is disabled in telnet by default. On a *nix box simply make a .telnetrc file in your home folder and put this in the file:
Code:
192.168.1.254 9000
        mode line

to enable linemode.

Then:
Code:
telnet 192.168.1.254 9000

Then continue with the rest of the DD-WRT La Fonera guide starting from step 6 under Flashing.

I don't know how to do this under WIndows, but it works for me on OS X and Linux. I got the linemode tip from the OpenWrt documentation. Using this technique I successfully unbricked my FON router that couldn't boot because RedBoot kept on trying to boot corrupted firmware.

And I believe by doing this you can start from step 6 in the flashing guide.

Just use Putty instead of Windows Telnet.
It works Fine

but there are those (such as myself) who use a *nix OS. PuTTY is a Windows app.
