well... an image of an operational router with special dd-wrt installed .... the Wholeflash.bin or CFE.bin ... could be used to install on the same type/model router manny times.

Willst du die Router mit dem Nick oder dem RealName Personalisieren?
Also RealName (z.B. aus den Userdaten) finde ich besser...

Allerdings muss man dann sicherstellen, das der Name nicht ohne Zustimmung/Grund durch einen Admin geändert werden kann...

kann er nicht. er ist fest im firmwareimage eingebunden. egal was du tust.

Sorry, ich meinte den Namen im Forum, das der nicht einfach von Müller auf Meyer gesetzt wird.
Vielleicht kann man auch den Firmennamen integrieren...

I think having the nickname embedded into the firmwares a good idea. But if the special custoimers base gets too large would you want to do it for each and everyone? At least that's my guess how you're gonna do it. Each special version compiled specifically with our names on it to everyone of us?? Or only upon request for updates? But if that is the case, why not something more severe? The last four digits of our payment info??? Or more. Just a thought. This way it ensures that he/she really won't want to spread it.
