ok guys, i know most of you got the router working with another minipci card.

my question is: is there any hope for people like me, who would love to see the dd-wrt firmware working with the original Airgo card?

No...

I had to buy a new minipci card because of that...

I've replaced the Airgo with a Broadcom based chip and have the wireless working with DD-WRT, but my router can't pull any DHCP info through the WAN from the DSL modem. I've tried a 30/30/30, I've tried multiple revisions of DD-WRT (I'm currently using v24 RC-7 Eko build from page 3), I've powercycled all of the equipment, and I can't ever get the router to pick up a WAN IP. I tried calling Frontier to have them help me set up a bridged connection with their modem, only to be told that they do not support bridges and if the router is not picking up an IP through DHCP, then they cannot help me.

With the Eko firmware, it is detecting the hardware's original MAC address, where with the other builds it would not automatically detect any MACs at all and would just leave those blank until I manually plugged them into the MAC address cloner.

I've changed the Operating Mode to 'Router' since the DSL modem also acts as a router. Every other setting is factory default.

In case you're curious why I'm bothering with all this, it's because the wireless on the SE567 is really slow and drops connections frequently.

Every setting is factory default unless otherwise specified. Also I apologize if this is info overload, but I'd rather post too much than too little.

After 30/30/30 the router should be OK.
I suggest to focus on your modem configuration.
Check out this one. It may help. http://broadbandreports.net/forum/r21513594-Set-your-Frontier-SE567-to-Bridge-Mode

Keep in mind you should power on the modem first. Wait until it initializes then turn on the router. Cloning the MAC may not be necessary. Try without MAC clone first.
Of course you have to make sure you can restore your modem configuration to the original state if something goes wrong.

with the help of an openwrt colleague, i learned that the default boot addr for the belkin is 192.168.2.1, so if i set my ip addr to 192.168.2.2, i could tftp into that on reboot.

has anyone gotten the airgo modules running in dd-wrt?

Router still running great, but today I wanted to set a channel from auto to a fixed channel, and there is no options other than Auto, does yours have a drop down list for the channel?

I have got the same router, too. I need to install dd-wrt in it. I would like to know if the Atheros 5008/5416 MiniPCI Wireless card works in it.
Thanks

hi

I guess I have time again to dig into this, as I need to use this router...

Can anyone comment on how much throughput they are getting connecting over 802.11n to another 802.11n, kept right next to it... when using DD-WRT...

I am more interested in

For those that are using DD-WRT with another MiniPCI Wireless LAN Card, what version are you using?

I'm still use an old version, like you can see on my signature, but want to update to a newer stable...

Hey guys. Had to create a replacement user login for this post (haven't been here in a while). I tested the earlier firmwares mentioned in this thread a couple years ago and the wired stuff worked great. Now that I have my hands on a replacement miniPCI card, I was wondering if it will work and which of the newer builds might be able to run on this old girl (1000 version Pre-N). I purchased a Broadcom 4322-based Mini PCI card. PhoenixReborn mentioned a 4321-based Mini PCI and what I have is just a slightly newer version (the seller said to use the 4321 drivers for it). Any chance this thing will work with DD-WRT in the Pre-N? One of those fancy-schmancy PreSP2 builds would be nice......... Any ideas?

Update: I read somewhere else in the forum that the k2.6 builds (like the ones that support the WRT610N) might have the 4322 driver in them. So far I've had zero luck with them though, with not even the GUI coming up. I hold out hope that there is a solution somewhere, maybe down in the older but not too old preSP2 builds. Any ideas guys? How do I find out if this driver is in a particular build along with whatever else needs to be in there to boot Pre-N properly?

Update 2: One last cry for help with this. Is there any way to confirm that I don't have a bum 94322 Mini PCI card? None of the firmwares I load can turn this thing on, not even Tomato. Please, somebody, say something!

Ok, newsflash guys, I got wireless working on my Pre-N with my Broadcom 4322 mini PCI card!

Problem is, now I have the exact same problem as MysticCobra. I can't pull an IP off the WAN port. I think this issue needs to be looked into. I have version 1002 according to the sticker on the bottom, so this isn't a coincidence. I'm probably going to tick some people off, but I'm posting my findings in the NEWD-2, k2.4 "is it working" thread. That is what has been doing the trick for my wireless, the NEWD-2 driver on the "older" 2.4 kernel. Below I have pasted in the two versions that not only turn on my wireless but LIGHT UP THE WIRELESS LED!

dd-wrt.v24-14205_NEWD-2_mini_usb_ftp.bin
dd-wrt.v24-14471_NEWD-2_mini_usb_ftp.bin

For this reason will I be posting in the "Routers that will and won't support k2.4 NEWD2" thread. Hopefully that will get somebody's attention and help fix this apparent bug.

P.S. My router is currently correctly recognized as "Belkin board F5D8230" but I have seen the "Askey board RT2205(6)D-D56" more than once in my testing.
