Background:
received order of several EOC2610s & configured different configs, locations, SSIDs, wireless modes, channels, & channel widths, trans/receive speeds, etc on devices. After 3-5 days, half of these EOC2610s began to reboot at exactly 18 1/2 minutes...verified all of the affected EOC2610s did not have "consecutive" serial numbers (rule out "bad batch")...basically, no "common" denominator...initial dd-wrt FW used on all the EOC2610s was v24preSP2 build 12533 dated 22Jul09 std.

Solution:
simply reset EOC2610 back to "factory defaults" & manually add config entries stopped the rebooting issue...changing dd-wrt firmware versions did not resolve rebooting issue...so far, no intermittent reboots...happy flashing...;-}

Hi Rinja, AFAIK, I have not this issue using build 12874. It has been running fine for 6 days, and had to disconnect it from power supply to do some changes in the physical installation.

Was it more AP or Client related ?

Thanks, Michel.

guess i forgot 2 mention that part of the config...the answer is all of the affected EOC2610s were used in both AP & client modes...half were setup as WDS AP/STA and the other half was setup as AP/Client...regardless of which config they all rebooted at exactly 18 1/2 minutes...tnx for asking...;-}

Do you have any chance identifying the hardware ? mines are V1.10, it might be related. If you still have one of the boxes, you might see the version and revision.

;-)

So, here comes my next question, related to a problem I do have encountered : what are the settings for the Antennas ?

Primary / Internal ?
Primary / External ?
Secondary / Internal ?
Secondary / External ?

According to what I have read, it should be "Primary / Internal" on the 2610, but, for any reason on one it is the case, and on the other it is "Secondary / Internal".

Would be nice to know if you got also this issue or not.

Thanks, Michel

there's been some discussion in this forum about the EOC2610 antenna settings...i remember reading that you can't mix/match internal/external antenna settings...meaning, u either use internal or external since it is a "hard" switch setting...i have all of mine set (both WDS and APs) for internal tx/rx primary, divisity disabled, tx min speed auto, tx max speed 18Mbps...;-}

Sash,
tnx 4 the reply...MichelG provided huge assistance with this...basically, i originally used the 12533 build, then moved to the 12874 build while trying to determine the intermittent reboots...MichelG pointed out that since i had the external antenna switch set to internal, i needed to make sure dd-wrt tx/rx antenna setting was secondary/secondary...once i did that my signal strength increased 4x...simply amazing what will happen when u actually use the antenna <grin>...i haven't had the intermittent rebooting issue since we adjusted the antenna settings...since then after reading ur comment about build 12533 being stable & many changes to madwifi after that build, i moved all the 2610s & 5610s back to build 12533...i'll let that run a few days & check for stability...btw, didn't notice much SNR changes from build 12533 to 12874...tnx again MichelG & Sash...cheers...;-}

i wouldn't worry 2 much about "detecting" which HW version...if it's not readily available, u can relay to SG (BS) that as long as techs share info here, i'm sure we can get the word out about the antenna settings...most of us are satisfied when we find the rite info in the rite amount of time...tnx again...cheers...;-}

Hi Rinja sorry if this is a bit off topic but do these Senao devices perform much better than the Linksys Wrt's ? What about the Ubiquiti too, I see you have all.

I'm thinking of upgrading my network of linksys wrt54's, as adsl here is now faster than my network ... thanks
