Bought this router several weeks ago and finally got some time to DD-WRT it. 1st of all it was a trick to try to get the firmware 12672.
2- After doing all the new configuration to the router and comparing connection speed to my previous Netgear WGT624v3, my old router seems to outperform this Buffalo router.
3- Did several speed test with http://www.speedtest.net and got between .3-.5mb down and 1mb up. so I put the older router and it game me 3-5mb down and 2mb up.
Many users are reporting this router to be exceptional however I still don't know what am I missing in the configuration set.

Running VOIP and about 70% of total bandwith for QOS.

Is this a router I need to return to the seller and reconsider a different one or my settings are off?

Kindly thank you for your help.

I have to wonder if you got a bad one?

I've got a WHR-G300N running the latest build from Brainslayer Build 12759 - 08/31/09

I have an ISP rated @ 10mbps down / 768kbps up

This is a speedtest I've done within past few days.
I'm getting close to 100% rated speed.

I have Cable Modem -> WHR-G300N WAN port

Have the WHR-G300N set to get a DHCP IP from the cable modem.

---------------

Maybe try flashing the 08/31/09 - 12759 build
Reset everything to default settings before and after flashing
Don't use any QoS during initial setup
Just get the Router an IP address from your modem
Plug 1 computer into LAN, and try some speed testing

Have the WHR-G300N giving out IP's to any other computers connected.

Thanks a mil Does it Matter.
I loaded the 12759 and wat a difference. Got my wireless N working topped 300mb.
speedtest up to 10mb down and 2-4mb up.
I have not setup QOS but will post result QOS as well to see is the QOS blocking or it was the 12672.

I don't think is a bad router after all.
Please share any other adjustment I should make to get the most out this router.

Once again Thank you
Rick

Depending on your layout and where your wireless-N devices are, you could up the signal strength.
I've increased the output from 71mw to 101mw and it seems to run fine at that output.
I don't see any increase in tx/rx errors so I'm not getting any noise in there.

When you do wireless security - stick with WPA or WPA2 AES - don't use the TKIP
There have been issues with TKIP from what I've heard.
