update. dir600 works now. port is now done. you may try the attached file. it can be directly flashed from the dir600 web interface.
this firmware is made for dir600 revb only

Was going to test one of these out but I checked 2 stores and I only seen DIR-600's with HW Ver: A1 it said on the side of the box. Is there any chance the A1 hardware version could be supported or should I keep looking for a revb?

I downloaded the file and tried the update. When I load the image on the web interface with this file, it tells me that

"The chosen file is not a valid firmware image file."

Any idea anyone?

help, btw, the hardware version is B1.

I'm wondering if there is a reason as to why only Rev B is supported. Is it just that there is no port yet for Rev A or is it a hardware incompatibility?

perhaps the reason is because nobody donated a hardware Rev A for Sebastian to port.

Maybe you can donate one to him so it can be ported?

Rev A seems to be running Atheros.

Dear BrainSlayer,

The failed update cases same as me whom the firmware seems dated on 2009/04/28 or later, I hope that if you could provide us a newer flash image for tackling this problem.
The newest firmware of original firmware is version 2.01 can be download from www.dlink.com.sg
If you would like to check about the language file of 2.01 in chinese, please check the attachment.

For who have DIR-600 with version 2.00 later, I strongly suggest you DO NOT UPDATE the 2.01 one because after 2.00 2009/04/16 seems changed something about upgrading the firmware though the webpage.

At last,I updated my DIR-600 though emergency http page, and the power led seems not working properly, but the functionality needed to be checked.

problem solved. dlink's / alpha networks firmware tools are buggy on 64 bit systems, since i found the sourcecode for them, i was able to fix it and it works now. i checked it with the 2.01 firmware version on a dir 600. firmware is attached
