Thank you for your hard work. I just flashed my TM without any issues.

Will there be a similar CFE updater for the WRT54G-RG? I have heard the hardware is identical. I am deploying these in a hotel and have access to the RG version and would love to have an easy method to get dd-wrt running rather than messing with jtag.

i have obtained a wrt54g-rg as well and would also appreciate a CFE updater for it, so as to not have to use JTAG method. thanks.

Hi there,

Great guide! Could someone direct me to the latest stable build for this router, i do not undertand the downloads section, i see v24 and v24 sp1 but then i saw somewhere else where sp1 is not stable. I am unsure where to look for the latest builds even for future upgrades so if someone could direct me it would be appreciated. Smile

I don't think it is being worked on. Probably not enough demand. afaik, there have been two, maybe three guys that just used jtag to flash a dd-wrt, tm cfe.

However, the being worked on priority thing is just my thoughts. I don't know one way or the other if / when it will be worked on.

TM's are easy to work with and seem to love jtag. It's not difficult to flash the cfe.

After saying that, I am about to flash a -tm. I read the instructions. However, I am puzzled regarding which build should I use. Suggestions are welcome

I've updated the instructions here and on the Wiki with the latest recommended v24-SP2 12548 build and added a note to check the Peacock thread for recommended build numbers if unsure.

I am ready to help you out. Just tell me (please, like if I was 5 year old) what you need.

This is the first time I am using a jtag adaptor and/or hacking a router. I hope my Ubuntu/Linux short experience helps.

I will wait 24 hours or so for you. I sooo need the DD-WRT inside this router, it is otherwise useless (no static LAN IP addresses, etc, etc, etc).

O.

PS: Does the PM in this forum work?

Does anyone know where to get the oem firmware bin from? I think the rar posted is a jtag backup of kernel. That will take a while to flash via jtag. I never tried to use the management screen or the gui to flash a jtag kernel backup.. It should work.. Right?

If you are talking about the WRT54G-RG, then here is what I found. This guy made a mirror backup of the Linksys ftp site, which happens to have the WRT54G-RG firmware:

BTW this was not easy to find.

Hello, is the v24 preSP2 [Beta] Build 13064 the newest and stablest build to load on the WRT54G-TM? Or are there better and more stable builds? I am always weary of "Beta" builds. Confused Also, any advantage to loading the MEGA Generic over any others?

I was able to successfully installed dd-wrt and it works great as a router. But since I bought a wrt320n, i needed the 54tm to become an AP, but am not able to:

I have decided to just convert this back to stock firmware and hope that with that it can solve my problems. Is there a way back or a way to go to sveasoft alchemy (a firmware i am using on another router tuned AP)?
