Anyone who has good experience and configured his/her wireless to receive a rate over 130Mbps?
I am using Linksys WRT160N v.1.1 and using: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN .

Anyone know how to optimize everything for the best connection?
Basic settings and advanced wireless settings in DD-WRT.
And any special configuration wireless card?
I also experienced that friends over at my house don't see my router wireless to connect.
SSID is broadcasting.
And the final question what version of firmware would suit best. Thanks for your help.

I am using Eko 12360 std atm and have 54Mbps only. And have very low packet receiving and sending packets is bigger.

You need to have 802.11N mode enabled first of all on 4965AGN card. Wireless Mode use a/g. 802.11n channel Width set to Auto. Disable Throughput Enhancement. Fat channel Intolerant Disabled. Transmit Power Highest.

Router settings as follows. I use channel 11, and your security should be either WPA-AES or WPA2-AES, also you can turn your ACK timing = 0. Depending if you want 270mbps or not. Put your router to Channel Width to 40Mhz Save. Wide Channel to Lower Save. Then choose channel 11 again and Save. Here are some other settings for the Advanced Wireless settings you can try:

CTS Protection mode=Auto
Frame Burst=disabled
Beacon Interval=75
Preamble=Auto
TX power=50 to start
Afterburner=disabled
WMM Support=Enabled
Bluetooth Coexistence=Enabled

Now go to Administration Tab and change these settings:
IP Filtering Settings
Max ports=4096
TCP and UDP Timeouts to 90

After all of this Apply Settings on the Admin Tab since this is the last page you'll be on. It does not matter what page you Apply Settings to though.

Thanks!
When I am back home, I will try to do that.
I know one thing for sure is when I save 40Mhz and lower channel I can maximum pick 9 only.
Blazian how does your other configuration on network card look for example CTS/RTS enabled etc.

I have it on CTS-to-self Enabled.
"Mixed Mode Protection: Default value is CTS-to-self Enabled. The alternative is CTS/RTS Enabled. Use to avoid data collisions in a mixed 802.11b/802.11g environment. CTS-to-Self can be used to gain more throughput in an environment where clients are in close proximity and can hear each other. RTS/CTS should be used in an area where clients may not hear each other."

Blazian what you think in Advanced Settings: MIMO etc.? Should it be auto? The speed goes up maximum cap to 130Mbps. Even if I am 5 feet away from it. It just don't go above it.

I don't have an Intel wireless card, but I know I've seen somewhere that you need to update to the latest driver. I think there were issues with the driver for that model...

Leave on Auto. You should be able to to pick channel 11 with Wide Channel to lower. Make the changes and SAVE until you can do it. After you do this you have to go back into Advanced Wireless Settings and Disable Frame Burst and Afterburner again. After Saving all of this then hit Apply Settings.

My settings atm are:

Wirless Network Mode: Mixed
Channel: 11
Channel Width: 40 Mhz
Wide Channel: Lower
ACK Timing: 0
Bridged

Security:
WPA2 Personal AES
Key Renewal Interval: 3600

Advanced:
Authentication: Auto
Basic Rate: Default
MIMO: Auto
Transmission Fixed Rate: Auto
CTS Protection mode=Auto
Frame Burst=disabled
Beacon Interval=75
DTM interval: 1
Fragmentation Threshold: 2346
RTS Threshold: 2347
Max Associated Clients: 128
Then Auto on TX, RX, Premale and Shortslots override
TX power=50 changed to 75 no improvements
Afterburner=disabled
WMM Support=Enabled
Bluetooth Coexistence=Enabled
AP Isolation: Disabled

Administration Tab:
IP Filtering Settings
Max ports=4096
TCP and UDP Timeouts to 90

When I go to status the following are:

Channel: 11 + 9
TX Power: 50
Rate: Jumps from 15-54 sometimes maybe higher, but average is always 54.
