I've purchased a WHR-G300N. Installed the release dated 3/3/09. As Access Point does work (was working even before with its original firmware....). It stucks when i do option CLIENT BRIDGE mode. It is not even listed in the WIRELESS drop down menu.
I've so choosed (even if not needed) REPEATER BRIDGE. Neither. Nope, Nein, Niez. Does not work.
Anybody has been able to work on these mode ?

Mounths ago i've purchased An ASUS WL-500W. I've cutted away the original antennas and plugged in external antenna with more than 7 dBi gain. It does accept EKO releases. It is plenty of memory. It does support even USB deviced attached (NAS).

I do suggest potential users of "N" mode to put their attention only to ASUS. BUFFALO and LINKSYS (i have 3 x WRT160N V.2 will never accept DD-WRT...) are not good for installing DD-WRT.

Hi.
i did. And the device went temporary bricked. And did happen with any BrainS release dated afterward March 03 (for this reason i'm wondering why are available such traps in the download section when is clear these releases should not be installed).

The only release I did find pretty usable is the one dated Feb 19.

Tnx for the interest.

It is not a stable release, the download page says BETA. You are going to have some bumps along the way. The latest build that worked, for me anyway, was 030309.

I tried to to just as the OP did, but was unable to successfully setup my WHR-G300N as a client or repeating bridge.

I am considering getting a WHR-G300N and would like to know if anyone has succeeded in getting bridging -- WDS, Repeater, or Client bridging -- working on this router?

I have been unable to get WDS, Repeater or Client bridging working with this router. Currently the latest working build is from 030309 with no response from developers (not a complaint, just a fact). There is an open bug. The router is supported so hopefully we will see some good come from this relatively cheap N router.

So basically you can't use this router except as a standalone WAN-attached home router?

I was able to get WDS, client (not client bridged) and repeater bridge work by changing the encryption type from WPA-TKIP to WPA-AES. Both units (both are whr-g300n) are in N-only mode and as far as I can tell, working perfectly.

Does WDS work in G-mode and with your other Linksys/Netgear units?

I believe so but I did not do extensive testing. I will play around with it some and let you know of my findings.
