Greetings,

I successfully flashed a refurbished WRT54G2 to DD-WRT, and then upgraded to dd-wrt.v24-12030_NEWD_micro-plus_ssh.bin. However, SSH is not enabled. I can telnet in, but when I attempt to run dropbear, I only get the prompt back (even with the -F option) What am I missing here? Is ssh really not supported at all on this unit?

Thanks!

ssh is not enabled by default. you need to enable it by the UI or nvram commands.

Enable the SSH daemon on the Services tab first...then set up SSH on the Administration tab.

Soulstace,

Thanks for the quick reply. "SSH Management" is grayed out in the UI. Where can I find the nvram commands to enable it?

look under the services tab. it needs to be enabled there first.

P.S. - you can find the nvram commands in nvram :p

nvram show | grep ssh

I'm looking into getting SSHd going on my WRT54G2 V1 as well.

Did you ever get it going on yours?
If so, which version of the DD-WRT firmware did you use?

I have seen a couple different firmware versions mentioned (including in the official instructions for this router), but none of the links actually work.

Does anyone know of a DD-WRT firmware that adds SSHd to the WRT54G2 V1 router?

AFAIK that feature is only on Eko specialized builds.
Probably won't see it on newer micro builds.
