I have a wrt310n that has older firmware on it - DD-WRT v24-sp2 (11/05/0Cool std - build 10776M NEWD Eko. Is there anything better out yet? I'd like to see my wireless speed jump back up to what it was on the stock firmware if at all possible yet.

The one on the peacock thread is pretty good, well tested no fuss, with lots of previous bugs fixed. Personally, 11650 was very stable for me, and it is my fallback build if any of the new test build were unstable.

Otherwise, you can join the new ranks of testing the latest one, 11793. Just flashed that and its looking fine.

I flashed with the 11793, said my upgrade was successful, but I can't do anything. I can't get to the gui, the router doesn't seem to be assigning an ip address but my computer will connect to it with limited connectivity. Where do I go from here to try and reflash it?

if you are relying on dhcp and you arent getting it (then you have a 169.x.x.x)

so you arent going to get a ping reply

static your IP
do a 30-30-30
if you can get into the gui password, good
if not, try telnet

I static ip, did a 30-30-30, no password, did the tfpt2 to the mini build for the 310n, still unable to get to the gui, when I ping now I get 192.168.1.2 host unavailable and then request timed out.

if you did a 30-30-30 it should be reset to defaults... 192.168.1.1

Power cycle the router and watch for any ttl=100 responses. If everything is set up properly, and you are doing the process properly, and it doesn't work, try the recovery mode in the link at the end of note 11.

If none of that works, you might have to look into jtag. What did you do to get in this state? Fail to wait?

I got the router flashed, I can now get into the gui, but when I go to change any of the settings and apply them I get a black screen and the changes don't apply. I can't even upgrade to a newer firmware either, it does the same thing.

Re-read the peacock, taking particular note of 13.
