I was looking to see if it were possible to have a script on the wrt54gl (v24sp1) to send an email each time a client connects/disconnects.

looks like client-connect is one of the things I am looking for. This seems like it would have been solved already - however I didnt find anything online about it.

Has anyone done this? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks,
john

uh... http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10210 ?

I made that script for the same reason you're asking. Just define your OpenVPN port et voilla. Or you can mess around with ip-up scripts etc.

Wow!

This is great! Thanks.

Just one question...

In the post, you said "To be able to use it, you should have an SDcard mod or JFFS2 space left to save this script and save the sendmail binary. A samba share should do too."

Would this work on the wrt54gl? I am going to have to search for how to figure out if I have jffs2 space in the meantime.

If you have enough space to splace the script and the sendmail binary on it, it will work Smile
Do note that you should use TCP connections afaik.
