WNDR3300, What version and package to use?

Hi,

Can you guys pinpoint us in right direction?

It seems to me that I am not alone when asking in the forums for suggestions on the above topic... :)

If one would like to have a version / package containing all features such as DDNS, VPN server support etc.

I am currently running this one http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24_TNG/svn11296/dd-wrt.v24-11296_NEWD_mini_wndr3300.chk

Which one should we use?

The builds that you can use are determined by your flash size, not your desire. You should read the peacock thread. It will explain things that will help you understand this better.

If you still have the netgear firmware on it, use dd-wrt.v24-11296_NEWD_mini_wndr3300.chk right from the update option. Onde you have dd-wrt, you can just use the generic mini.

Standard is not supported by the router, not enough space. All newest builds work also, with some issues (dual lan speed for me). 11296 is a bit old.

If mini is supported, standard should be as well?? Is there something unique about this router? Perhaps you mean mega?

Mini and Standard have different size, one is 2.8 megs, the other 3.6. There are a few other threads on the forum where Standard bricked the router.

you are completely wrong on that

standard is fully supported which is why im running standard firmware on mine.

No, he's *NOT* completely wrong. ;)

Many of the later v24 sp2 standard builds would fail to successfully flash on the WNDR3300. It seems things had grown just a bit too large for this particular router, and the mini distribution worked when the standard distro wouldn't.
