I've been experiencing quite a problem with uTorrent ever since upgrading to DD-WRT. I'll be downloading a torrent at 850 kb/s and all of a sudden the speed drops to in between 100-200 kb/s. These torrent trackers ALWAYS give essentially the speed that your connection can handle.
I'm running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/30/0 micro - build 10709M NEWD Eko on a WRT54G2 router.
Thanks for your help!
PS: I also have terrible transfer rates occasionally (sometimes 2 Mbps or 5.5 Mbps).
I have a WRT54GS v1.1 with DD-WRT v24-sp1 (07/27/0 std - build 10011. My connection is 100/10Mbit and if I have torrents up, I cannot reach speeds over 1.4 MB/s, as the box reaches 100% cpu usage very shortly when I start the torrents. If I take the box out, I'm able to get speeds over 3 MB/s, so the box is the bottleneck.
I have lowered the tcp/udp timeout settings according to the Wiki on Router Slowdown.
As this obviously is some kind of cpu issue, would it help to change to a mini build and disable all features that are useless to me? Normally the load is about 25% on average, but starting torrents will make the box go crazy.
