Hum, seems to be dead now.
Erased whoelflash /noemw /noreset 3 times
flashed cfe without mac /noemw /noreset
unplugged, plugged back
solid power+diag leds right away, no ping.
Erased cfe and nvram /noemw /noreset 3 times
flashed cfe without mac /noemw /noreset /bypass
unplugged, plugged back
solid power+diag leds right away, no ping.
Erased cfe and nvram /noemw /noreset 3 times
flashed cfe with mac /noemw /noreset
unplugged, plugged back
solid power+diag leds right away, no ping.
Erased cfe and nvram /noemw /noreset 3 times
flashed cfe with mac /noemw /noreset /bypass
unplugged, plugged back
solid power+diag leds right away, no ping.
Both versions of cfe which used to work earlier today an no longer working, or something else is preventing the router from booting. _________________ Frank

Erase whole flash & power cycle the router. Don't flash the cfe.
What is the status of the LED's?
By the way... How long is it taking to flash the cfe? It should be around 10 minutes or so.
Also... I have no experience with your exact unit, but My V5 & V8 act different if I still have the jtag cable connected when power cycling. If I disconnect the jtag cable and power it up, they seem ready to accept tftp.
I don't think jtag can kill your router. Reboot your rig and try again.
Even try a different rig if possible. I have a desktop I use from time to time and it is hit & miss. My laptop runs about a 99% success rate. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]

I now tried to flash cfe without any /parameters. Takes much longer. Around 580sec (number edited) or so. Which is 10mins. It was taking 250 with parameters.
Still solid leds.
Tried with and without jtag cable connected when rebooting, makes no difference on this unit.
jtag may not kill a router, but if I do have a slight hardware issue (something badly soldered, resistance, capacitor, etc.), then maybe it doesn't help.
Erasing wholeflash 3 times, removing jtag cable and power cycling result in solid power and diag leds right away. Whatever I try now gives the same result all the time. _________________ Frank

Ok used again the cfe provided in this thread and followed the steps above.
It all works, except when you say reboot the router after flashing the cfe. It just doesn't reboot, when I plug back on the diag and power leds are still and always full solid.
I will give more tries to flash again the cfe (12 times now, I succeed first time this morning). Since I tried the erase of wholeflash the router never rebooted.
Is there a difference between a WHOLEFLASH erase and a CFE+NVRAM+KERNEL (independently) erase?

Get the cfe from above mention PM your mac to him.
Wholeflash erases everything on the flash chip the cfe which is the bootloader the kernel which is the firmware nvram which is the settings. nvram just erases the settings the kernel erase erase the firmware etc.

Well, ok I have tried 4 different CFEs and still no boot.
So I checked my voltage and it's DC5.00 to DC5.02 volts, which is excellent. But that is the block itself. I do not know if I am losing voltage inside the circuit board. This could be possible. I do not see anything broken though.
So I think I will let it fill with dust. lolll :)
I hope other people who need a CFE for v1.0 will read this thread as it has a lot of good information to flash and erase and it has a cfe attached too.
