i have a device similar to these in this topic. It is Asus AM-200g (http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1113&l1=13&l2=97&l3=0&l4=0). I made some pictures of the router inside (see attachment). The router has a lot of potential, but the firmware is buggy. I'm looking for alternative firmware or some tweaking tips. Specially for Samba and VoIP part because of lots of crashing.
As i know router has 16MB of RAM and 4MB flash chip. I can connect to it by telnet. Here are some examples:
Code:
# cat /proc/cpuinfo
system type : 96348GW-11
processor : 0
cpu model : BCM6348 V0.7
BogoMIPS : 255.59
wait instruction : no
microsecond timers : yes
tlb_entries : 32
extra interrupt vector : yes
hardware watchpoint : no
VCED exceptions : not available
VCEI exceptions : not available
I can post more detailed pictures if you want. I will appreciate every help.
Btw. I'm trying to get sourcecodes for this router from local distributor (on Asus global site, there are no files for this router). If i get some i will inform you.
I like to bump this up a bit because its a popular piece of hardware and many use it, also it is broadcom based and the hardware it self should have the ability to handle DDWRT , the only problem is the adsl modem driver... but since it is open source I guess you can use the one already in the firmware.

I have a Netgear DG834GT ADSL Modem router that I would like to use as a wireless bridge.
Since I'm not interested in using the ADSL modem on this would an existing firmware work on the router?

Well, in your case its a matter of trial and error, but OpenWRT for instance clearly states that it will not work on this router, so the chances of DDWRT to work on it are very slim.

:
Yea, but maybe still possible if you want to use the router as a wireless bridge or in wds and don't want or need the modem part.
Maybe Eko could help us out .
