I want to track my router with smokeping from somewhere in the world. What do I have to do that my router would answer to pings on his wan interface?
Thanks in advance,

tiggar

Security-->Firewall-->(Disable) Block Anonymous Internet Requests

Shocked Not sure I'd do that myself.

Brainslayer, can you PLEASE re-label this feature to be "respond to internet ping" ?

this is the stupidest-ly worded interface element in the history of the universe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I think this block all ICMP requests so even if "Block Anonymous Internet Requests
" is the stupidest-ly worded interface element in the history of the universe (which isn't) , your is simpy totally wrong, well understandable for noobs, but wrong Smile

i hope you were either drunk when you posted or that you're about 12 years of age, because that post was pathetic.

if you're messing with 3rd party firmware and you don't know what "block anonymous internet requests" means, then you're already in over your head.

Hmm, I had to consult the help for that, too.
Possibly re-labling it to "ignore all ICMP" or something would be a good idea.

BTW: If dicksons' proposal was wrong, so is the help text:

it is the same text held over from the linksys firmware

can't it please be descriptivized ?

PS... @n3tfury @GrumpY54gsv4

right -- I'm a drunken 12-yearold Noob

you in-bred sub-human fuck-tards can feel free to heckle my posts after you have deployed and supported 200+ flashed WRTs in a production environment for two years, like I have.

until then, "shut your festering gob, you tits !"

Nice, gentlemen.

Lets see next how many obscenities we can string together while measuring the length of our unit.

Real mature.

On topic, I would like it clarified in the web interface, but it wasn't that difficult to figure out.
