Instead of threadjacking, I thought I'd post a new thread here. The problem basically is that the router slows down to a crawl: access to the web-GUI Control Panel, and also all data through the WAN port grinds to a halt.
I've tried all the suggestions on the wiki, but they don't help: increasing the CPU speed, increasing the number of ports, and decreasing the timeout values.
This seems to happen after 7-8 days of uptime, and sometimes after a system/config change (eg. DHCPd config). Sometimes it fixes itself in 2 hours, and if not, a router reboot usually fixes the problem.

slowdowns are almost caused by external massive connection requests. please check this _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s

and naturally too if you selected a bandwith default control which is very low. your connection to the router will be controlled by the bandwith control too _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking?
