The title says it all. I found the thread listed below but no one ever responded that knew whether it would or not. I think OpenWRT is working on it, but I've never used it plus I'm use to a web base setup page provided by dd-wrt

I've really enjoyed using dd-wrt on my wrt54g v3 and I would like to be able to use my WAP55AG as a wireless repeater, any responses would be greatly appreciated.

It would be better if you posted it here. FCC ID is nothing to keep secret. It will be the same for every WAP55AG so long as they're the same version.

Thanks, I was a little concerned about that.
BTW, this AP does have 802.11/a which I don't have any use for.

I'm not sure if dd-wrt supports 802.11a anyways. It supports b,g,n modes.
The main thing we need to know is what hardware is inside. Like CPU, WiFi chipset, and the amount of flash memory.
If it's anything like WRT55AG it's probably Atheros based which I don't have much experience with.

Here is the needed info.:
IC ID: 3839A-WAPAGV2
FCC ID: Q87-WAP55AGV2
I hope this information is helpful. Once again, thanks for looking into this.

Can you post some high quality pictures of the internals? For whatever reason, that FCC ID doesn't seem to be in the database.

Sure, I'll have to do that when I get home later this afternoon

Here are two pictures. I hope this is what you're looking for. The first picture to turn out too good, but I think you can make out the name of the chip.

Well we can clearly see it is Atheros based, as I suspected.
The problem is... it only appears to have 2MB flash. (Isn't that 29LV16 on the MX chip? 16 megabits = 2 megaBytes)
AFAIK dd-wrt requires 4MB flash for Atheros.
