I have preliminary test dd-wrt builds (mini and nokaid) for Netgear WGR614L (aka v8 ) router. They are only tested on my router, which is recent EU version. (It has cfe v1.5)

Any testers? I prefer one with serial console connected and knowledge how to recover (tftp....)

Well... you know what to do....
Please come forward too if you have NA version (cfe 1.3 or 1.5)

10x

I've just flashed the mini trough the web interface of the official Netgear firmware without any problems. The leds on the router are working just fine, compared to the problems with the last dd-wrt firmware version that was available on myopenrouter.com.

I see overclocking is still not available, any chance for that in the future?

Yes, it seems to work fine, although I haven't tested it much... you get 2MB on the device's flash.

Overclocking of BCM5354 is not possible - it's fixed at 240 MHz.

I've played a bit with the mini and standard versions and they seem to work ok, haven't experienced any problems with most of the traditional features.

Although I'm experiencing some slow speeds with both firmwares when using the wireless compared to the speed I get with the standard firmware of the WGR614L.

With the mini I'm able to reach up to about 1.5-1.6 MB/s and up to 1.0-1.1 MB/s with the standard version of DD-WRT. These are with WPA using TKIP encryption and at the same time with the official Netgear firmware I'm able to get up to about 2.5 MB/s transfer over the wireless with the same conditions and settings. Am I doing something wrong or other people are having the same slow transfer speeds?

Eko, thanks for the support - I will check it out once I am back to work.

By the way did you get anywhere on TJTAG serial flash support?

This build fixes power led/ reset button issue, wlan led works as it should, it's also done with my new trx tool for 64k blocks (you know what i am talking about) and loader with +400 address.
Enabling jffs may still break cfe's checksum check at power up.

Tested on my European L with cfe 1.5, don't know how it works on others (cfe 1.3 ? ). Can you test?

Sorry, no news about serial TJTAG yet.

Good morning ( here it is 10:45 and I will be having my breakfast soon),
I just installed the nokaid version and until now it seems to work fine. When there is a newer version available, will it allow me to upload .chk files directly from the GUI? I had the dd-wrt version from myopenrouter.com installed and first had to use their mtd_erase tool to get tftp working.

madscientist, you'll still have to use the mtd_erase to change the firmware with a chk image... or you'll need to edit the file in order to make it usable trough the web interface.

Anyone succeeded to get better wireless transfer speed than me yet?

I've also noticed that when using the standard version (nokaid) and the cpu is reasonably loaded the web interface is opening much slower then when using the mini with the same load.

How do you measure the transfer speed?
