BUMP ....very important fucking question.
Every time this happens I have to hard reboot the router via power cycle 50 times before i can connect again. This is NOT acceptable.

With just PPTP client configured (which was the original question), this is the output:

    10623 root 1176 S /bin/sh /tmp/pptpd_client/vpn go
    32117 root 1548 S /usr/sbin/pppd /dev/pts/0 38400 file /tmp/pptpd_clien
    32118 root 0 Z [pptp]
    32123 root 1004 S pptp: GRE-to-PPP gateway on (null)

So to get pptp connected again, just run this command from telnet:

Code:

/usr/sbin/pptpd -c /tmp/pptpd/pptpd.conf -o /tmp/pptpd/options.pptpd

But that is for the server....the client looks like it may be a bit more.

For the client, if you do this in telnet (while the pptp client is down), does it bring it back up:

Code:

/tmp/pptpd_client/vpn go

I found what helps when pptp connection is lost (ppp0 (or ppp1 depending if you're using pppoe) interface goes away) is to go to the web interface, Services\PPTP and click Apply Settings. And then wait a few minutes.

I have this exact same issue as well. The PPTP drops out every now and again and I have restart the router.

It would be nice to have a "Reconnect" button or something similar to get the PPTP working again without having to telnet in and type commands.
