Hello,
I recently purchased the Special version to get the per IP bandwidth control and I’m unable to get the QOS to work properly on the V24 STD-Special on a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 using with Netmask Priority.
My setup is a s follows
Router IP 192.168.10.1
PC cat5 on 192.168.10.130
PC cat5 on 192.168.10.135
QOS port WAN
Packet Scheduler: HTB (also tried HFSC)
Uplink KBPS: 450
Downlink KBPS: 3150
Netmask Priority
192.168.10.130/32 Max Kbits Up 50 Max Kbits 500
192.168.10.135/32 Max Kbits Up 50 Max Kbits 225
And even after saving & applying the settings, it doesn't make a change,
even rebooting router has no effect.
Both PCs are downloading a 2000kbits plus...
the only time QOS seems to work is if I set Netmask Priority to IP
192.168.10.130/24 that will slow download speed on all PCs on the router. But the upload speed never changes, it's maxed out at 350 kbps
I also had no luck with MAC address filtering.
Can you explain how to properly setup QOS on the Special version.
A screenshot of a working setup that uses IP addresses would be appreciated.
QOS is broken in v24. There was a release last week which said it was fixed (see sticky thread) but users who tested it, including myself, found that it was still non functioning. BS released a rebuild of the std version a few days away but users who have tested it still report it broken.
If you want working QOS you need to flash back to v23 sp2, While this works it only has speed filtering for the downlink speed and not the uplink.
We are all hoping that a working version of v24 special will be available one day, hopefully soon.
I'm somewhat happy to see i'm not the only one with this problem, however it's unfortunate to pay for a product that is advertized as working and it really isn't.
Hopefully BraingSlayer figures out the source of the problem and fixes it on v24 for uplink and downlink speeds.
I guess a donation is good to keep up the great work of BS and others!
I have already donated by paying for what I thought would be v24 special only to find that after paying they had changed the download link in the shop to v23 sp2 which does not do what I was paying for v24 special to do, ir, control uplink as well as downlink.
Like you, I am hoping they will finally sort this out soon.

Yeah im kinda pissed since that is the main reason I purchased this firmware. QOS needs to be working for up/down so I can manage my 11 machine home network.
