I have been using DD-WRT, both v23 and v24 for some time now, and I am looking to buy a new router with more flash ram, to be able to use more features.
What supported 8 MB devices would you (the community) recommend? Anyone who have specific good or bad experiences?
Also, I live in Sweden, which may or may not affect what hardware is easy to find. If enyone have a recommended store in sweden, that would be nice to hear too.
That is not really helpful since some of those devices are not available for sell any longer. I think it would be good to have a list of currently available routers with 8 MB of flash memory or a list of routers that can be modified to have 8 MB of flash memory. I have gone over the supported hardware list and have found quit a few 8 MB flash memory routers that are no longer sold.
Those can still be found 2nd hand... nothing wrong with 2nd hands if you really want something _________________ Linksys WRT54G v7.2 @ Micro

Asus WL500gP - works just fine _________________ 1 x WRT610n V1 (DD-WRT mega build 18000)
1 x ASUS RT-N16 (DD-WRT mega build 18000)
1 x Linksys WRT54GS v1.1(DD-WRT)
1 x ASUS WL500g Deluxe (DD-WRT)
2 x ASUS WL500g Premium (DD-WRT)
1 x Linksys WRT 350N v2 (OpenWRT Backfire 10.03)
Maybe less flash than you want but here's limited input.
I have two WRT54-GL and they are great flashed with V24-std. I don't do all the fancy stuff, just repeaters and A/P with the power turned up a little.
I have a WRT300N that I tried many versions of recommended dd-wrt and none of them provided the original g mode range I had before flashing even turning the power up to 70. Then when I flashed back to Linksys still didn't get my range back with the same initial settings. Also can't get the 300N V1.1 to work as a repeater.
So 2 positive votes for WRT54GL, 1 neg vote for WRT300N (though the range before messing with factory firmware was really impressive)

The WRT54GL is actually expensive for what it does. For about 10% more cash one can get an Asus WL-500g Premium v1 which not only has twice the flash&RAM of the GL but also has a faster processor and includes two USB 2.0 ports. I'd say there's no reason in this world to buy a WRT54GL - it's simply become too expensive for what it does. _________________ Q: How do I do ...? A: Read the tutorials or Search forums
