i will introduce it as far i have found a good way to enhance the download functions here in the forum _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s
I don't like the idea.
I just don't want to use tagged software.
One should at least have the possibility to disable the display on the admin- and status-pages.
Same here. I don't like this one bit.
Also I think you should not waste your time on a battle against bastards that put your software on filesharing. You will be like Microsoft or like Don Quichote: fighting windmills. You will not sell less copies of special or routers with special just because it is on filesharing - people who get it there would not have payed for it in the first place. _________________ If you use DD-WRT, you HAVE to make a donation! I see no problem with this idea if it is to prevent distribution of an item without at least some small reasonable reward to the developer.
This raises the question of why only Special Users? Surely to download DD-WRT one needs to be a registered user?
I was rather surprised to see one large Spanish distributor of hardware adding 2€ to WRT54GL's sold with DD-WRT preloaded.
There was no statement to the effect that this amount or some part was used to donate to the DD-WRT project.
After all we users will all lose out if we do not keep the developers strong and healthy by feeding them regularly!! Man or Woman does not live by just bread alone!!
Is there any way to upgrade from a Tomato Firmware?... I have a client who has Tomato and I have told him about the next version of this DD-WRT 24 Special Ed.
