Trick to DL/UL speed limiting in QoS?

Is there a trick to setting up DL/UL speed limits in QoS? I know they work because I had it set up wrong on accident and it was limiting my speed but I cannot get them to work on my wireless clients. I've tried specifying by MAC and Netmask(IP) but neither seem to work. These clients still are grabbing my full bandwidth on a regular basis.

I am using 2.4 standard special final on a Asus WL-500GP. If there is some secret to QoS speed limiting that I have yet to learn will someone please share it with me?

hi @ all,

i have the same problem. in v23 everything works fine but in v24 all the clients get the speed set at Uplink (kbps) and Downlink (kbps).
Lower values at Netmask Priority and/or MAC Priority have no effect.

Router: Buffalo WHR-G125
OS: DD-WRT v24 (05/24/08 ) vpn-special - build 9526
Line: 8mbit/768kbit
Settings:
Uplink (kbps):512k
Downlink (kbps):7200k
Netmask Priority: 192.168.1.0/24 256up/2048down

perhaps BS can tell us why this setup does not work.

I have the same problem.

The Up/downbload restriction doesnt work ....

Tried everything.....

Me too cant get QoS working on WHR-HP-G54 v24sp mini:-(

does the general qos settings under

Uplink (kbps)
Downlink (kbps)

work?
means when you set the speed to lower settings will downloads be restricted?

Yes only the DL/UL limit in the QoS tab work, which useless as the per user bandwidth control is broken itself Crying or Very sad

i spoke to BS: this bug was fixed some time ago. it can be checked in the next test release.
