It looks like something wrong in V24 final.

Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does /var/run/asterisk.ctl exist?)
root@DD-WRT:~# _________________
Thanks kamsamia for the location. You also mention editing an asterisk.conf file in which I do not recall seeing either in my search for conf files. You mind locating that for me as well. Thanks for all the help you have given back to this great community
For config enable jffs create directory /jffs/etc/asterisk
in asterisk.conf write :
astetcdir => /jffs/etc/asterisk
in startup write:
/usr/sbin/asterisk -C /jffs/etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf
the problem is astdb, even creating the folder in jffs, does not work.

Were you able to load some extra modules? I saw that it loads 31 modules. The problem is that I can't find any SIP command typing 'help' (I wanted to see the status of the peers with Sip show peers )
I have Asterisk running on an SD modded WRT54GL but woud like to get it running on an old 2100 Fonera. Can RC7 be loaded onto the Fonera without the SD mod, I couldn't seem to work it out from ths thread? Is asterisk working OK in that form?
I am wondering, I have a WRT54GS v3 with DD-WRT build 11793 w/voip is it hard to install asterisk onto it? I right now have on my computer asterisk 1.4 soon hopefully will update to 1.6 Do I need do any thing speaical, also my router is setup so one port gets it own IP address and the other ports have one other IP address along with wifi using that same outside IP.

Hi!
I successfully installed Asterisk v1.4 onto DD-WRT build 11793 mega (on Asus WL-500G Premium) like this:
- enabled and cleared JFFS partition in the WEB GUI
- prepared a USB stick with Ext3, mounted to /opt in the WEB GUI (I guess FAT would also do fine, and other SD/MMC mods too)
- installed Optware according to this
- installed asterisk14 with command
also installed the same way asterisk14-core-sounds-en-g729, asterisk14-extra-sounds-en-g729, asterisk14-moh-freeplay-g729, and what else I needed
- installed a very nice small GUI called Asterisk Management script from here. This webpage lists not only the GUI, but all the startup scripts and what else you need to do in order to make it work.
Works very nice! Shouldn't be harder for your setup either.
Posted: Wed Apr 29, 2009 17:29 Post subject: Calls from WAN not working
I have installed asterisk on my Asus WL-500G Premium V2 with optware on a USB Flash Drive according to the above post. The calls between the clients behind the NAT work fine. But when a client from outside calls, it rings the extension being called but when answered the caller can hear the voice but not the other way around. Also the call drops automatically after a few seconds. I have configured my sip.conf and rtp.conf to deal with NAT issues according to this http://wiki.ljackson.us/Asterisk_Firewall. I have also forwarded the following ports on my ddwrt mega router as below.
ports 5060 and 5061 to asterisk server with IP 192.168.10.1 (main asterisk control ports)
ports 10000 to 20000 to asterisk server with IP 192.168.10.1 (rtp ports for audio)
My sip.conf changes:
;settings for NAT issues
externip = xxxxxx.dyndns.org
localnet = 192.168.10.0/255.255.255.0
canreinvite=no;
I was successfully running an asterisk server with these settings on a windows box with IP 192.168.10.130. But these are not working for the asterisk on the asus router anymore for me. I am using xxxx.dyndns.org so externip in sip.conf has no issue of being changed. The output of my /tmp/.ipt looks like this.
