Excuse me if this has been asked already but is there a .trx version of v23 special I can use on my Asus WL-500gP?

Maybe there is a way to turn the existing .bin files into .trx files someone could point me to?

Thanks

Nevermind. I found out I could use the .bin and it worked until I kept having the same problems I had with my Buffalo when trying to use special v23.

I ended up going back to using my Buffalo with RC4 special already installed.

What problems were you having on the Asus with the Special Version?

I think I might have been installing the firmware wrong but after putting special v23 on the routers they'd become unresponsive.

I'm happily using DD-WRT v24 RC-7 (04/13/0Cool mega on my Asus router now until a new special is released.

I just put dd-wrt.v23_micro_special_generic.bin on my ASUS, and now (oddly) I can't log in via the web interface. I get the user/pass challenge box, but neither root:admin nor root:blah (where "blah" is my old password) work.

However, the router is configured for "router" rather than "gateway" mode, and I can get to the DD-WRT router behind it. So it is still functioning.

Also, SSH is now inaccessible.

I'm a little puzzled as to how to proceed...

What happened to my old password?

I think dd-wrt.v23_micro_special_generic.bin bricked my ASUS WL-500g Premium.

I can't get into the interface via SSH or the web, and I can't get pings or TFTP it when I hold down the reset button on power up.

Fortunately I have a second pre-configured ASUS as a backup that I'm running now.

Any thoughts, Brainslayer?
